Sources close to the National Resistance Front intelligence said that the Taliban had arrested its appointed deputy governor for Takhar province.
According to the sources, Mullah Jan Muhammad, known as Mullah Janu, due to serious internal divisions within the Taliban, was detained by the Taliban's special unit this morning; and transferred to Kabul.
In the meantime, Mullah Bahij, the Taliban puppet group intelligence chief for Takhar province, has also been sacked from his position.
Recently tensions were reported over the distribution of power and revenues collection between the provincial Governor, Chief of Police, and intelligence chief of the Taliban in Takhar Province.
