National Resistance Front, Kabul: More than 45 people drowned, mostly refugees from Afghanistan, as the ship collided in Italian waters.
The ship was carrying refugees from Afghanistan and Iran, which capsized on Sunday after colliding with a rock near Steccato di Cutro on the southern coast of Italy.
This ship was carrying more than 150 people who were mostly from Afghanistan and had fled the country due to the fear of persecution by the Taliban.
Italian President Sergio Mattarella said: "Many of these immigrants came from Afghanistan and Iran, who fled from difficult conditions."
After the occupation of Afghanistan by the Taliban, millions left the country. Several citizens who were deceived by the general amnesty of the Taliban and returned to the country were imprisoned, tortured and killed by the Taliban.
