National Resistance Front, Paktika: At least 225 people were killed, and 500 others were injured in an earthquake in four districts of Paktika province.
In Khost province, 25 people were killed, and 95 others were injured.
The earthquake's magnitude was 6.1; it occurred in the early hours (01:30) of 22 June, and the tremors were felt in parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The disasters struck at a time when, since the Taliban's control of Kabul, people have become poorer, and a humanitarian crisis is looming in Afghanistan.
