National Resistance Front, Sar e Pul: Taliban beheaded a 65-year-old man in Balkhab district. The old man was killed on Saturday in the old bazaar area of Balkhab after finding himself unable to flee with his family to the mountains.
Hundreds of Balkhab residents fled to the mountains after the Taliban launched an offensive and opened fire in Balkhab to suppress a popular resistance against the group.
These families are residents of the villages of Qala Gak, Tashkhar, Chenarak, Hoosh and Larkord in the centre of Balkhab. They abandoned their livelihood and took refuge in the mountains.
Yesterday, the Taliban shot dead seven civilians in the district, including five workers and two shepherds in the Jah Mirk area of the district.
