The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF) welcomes and appreciates the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Chair of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit, for calling an extraordinary meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers to discuss the situation in Afghanistan and help to provide an appropriate humanitarian response.
As a founding member of the OIC, Afghanistan is in urgent need of Islamic solidarity and joint Islamic action by all OIC members, while the country is experiencing its worst humanitarian catastrophe as a result of chronic conflict, drought and the Covid-19 pandemic.
The NRF believes that such an important meeting should take place at a venue other than
Pakistan that is not associated with the cause of the tragedies of Afghanistan and the suffering of its people.
It is also important that the event and its humanitarian response does not support or legitimize the brutal Taliban regime which is not recognized by any country or international organization.
The NRF stands ready to cooperate and coordinate with the international community in alleviating the suffering of the people of Afghanistan.
